Job Summary

Directly reporting to the Dean for the College of Engineering, with some day-to-day supervision by the Executive Associate Dean, the Director of Finance provides strategic management of all financial functions for the college. The Director of Finance serves on the Dean's leadership team along with Associate Deans, Assistant Dean and Personnel Manager and takes on the leadership role in financial decisions.

In support of the Dean and the college, the Director of Finance oversees the day-to-day management of the college's operating budget, including state and corporation funds, donor funds, endowments, and any commercial operations. The Director of Finance focuses on developing processes and systems to support a high-functioning operation. The incumbent builds strong relationships with key stakeholders in the college, the university, and the community to understand and address the strategic financial needs of the college. In collaboration with the Associate Deans and Department Chairs, the incumbent identifies, addresses, and remedies business and financial related issues, with a focus on continuous improvement and long-term organizational development.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or closely related field, and eight years of progressively responsible experience in Accounting, Finance or related fields.
