About This Career Opportunity

The Chief Financial Officer proactively participates as a key member of the executive leadership team in determining the strategic direction of the organization. This position has system-wide responsibility for financial operations, financial planning, and management of current programs.

Financial operations include accounting, financial reporting, audit preparations, billing, collection of accounts receivabe, accounts payable, payroll, investments, treasure (including banking, investments, debt compliance and cash management), income tax reporting, financial dashboards, insurance and other associated operations. Financial planning includes budgeting, financial analysis, long range financial, credit, and capital planning.

The CFO develops and establishes financial policies and standards, manages credit and capitalization requirements and in general ensures that all financial matters are managed appropriately, with consistency and accuracy in accordance with current guidelines, regulations, and standards, and in support of the company's strategic direction. The CFO is responsibile for Information Technology, developing the IT strategic plan, and managing staff and service providers.

This position manages key legal counsel relationships, oversees contracting, and participates as a member of the executive leadership team. The CFO consults, advises, and assists the President/CEO on all aspects of finance and financially related issues related to current operations and management contracts.

The incumbent will possess excellent financial skills in the areas of essential functions. The incumbent will possess and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization. Strong written, verbal, analytical and formal presentation skills are necessary. Must possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, commitment to high standards, a strong work ethic, confidence, innovation, integrity and discriminating judgement. Must have extensive knowledge in finance, accounting, financial systems, and financial planning.


Bachelor's Degree and advanced degree in Business or Finance required.


Minimum 5 years' experience in a VP of Finance or related role, with overall 10 years experience as a financial executive in a complex health care/long term care, or similarly complex organization with extensive background in all areas of financial planning and operations. Required experience with credit financing and financial feasibility and analysis is essential. Experience utilizing computerized information and accounting systems and experience integrating financial and operational information is essential.
